Prologue

Lots of people question whether or not these stories are fiction or non-fiction, and here is what I say to that, Yes. Seibert’s Café is inspired by my Uncle Arthur’s true story, but it is written intuitively. Basically, the facts are correct. Our Blessing is a true story, as is No More Secrets. It is important for you the reader to understand that my writing is based on my perceptions. The way I behold things is not necessarily the way even another member of my family might, but it’s my perception and my memories.

As for Ruth and Margaret’s shared secrets and John’s Testimony, those are just what they say they are. These spirits shared with me. Molly Cory Strong, my great-grandmother, brought them to me, because she knew what they had to say was significant to them and others. I believe Ruth and Margaret are somehow linked to my family, and one day I have no doubt that how we are related will become apparent. Oddly enough, once you read No More Secrets and then John’s Testimony, you will most likely discover the connection on your own. It wasn’t until two days after John and I had completed his story that I became aware of why it was he shared his journey with me. There is no such thing as coincidence. We have family and loved ones on the other side who want to help us. All we have to do is be available with childlike curiosity and love, and they will come. I acted as their scribe. What a thrill to have received this information through the veil! It was exciting to sit down to the computer and never know exactly what was about to be revealed. At times, we would write one chapter; other times, two or three. We worked as long as they wanted, and then we would rest to let the dust settle so to speak. They had final approval on everything written. I realize that this may sound strange to many of you, but it is the truth. This most definitely is not an ordinary experience. They have taught me so much. My pact with them was to just write their story, and after that, if they wanted to allow it to be shared, then they would tell me. Ruth and Margaret agreed after the third Journal Entry. John held out until Chapter IX. It’s just like on this side, it’s all about trust and love. Think of sharing your most personal and intimate secrets with strangers, and you will have an idea of how they must have felt. A friend of mine told me months ago that these particular spirits are in some way aligned with my family and that they have carried these experiences, sorrows, and joys. In short, she said, “You are acting as their therapist and helping them get these experiences and lessons out in the open once and “for all.” This is how they can completely share their life lessons and help others to heal. What a wonderful gift “for all”!

Is everything totally accurate? I’m not sure. Does it matter? It is their perception, as my perceptions in my stories from this side of the veil are mine. No research has been done before or after to corroborate what they shared with me. I am acting on faith with them, as they are with me, and that is a huge part of the trust between us. It is not about the minute details, on this side of the veil or the other that should be the focus, it is the journey.
